About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Operational Technology programs and oversee critical process automation, DCS, and SCADA platforms.
- Direct the development, integration, and ongoing optimization of complex automation systems.
- Manage a team responsible for supporting networks that power water, wastewater, and recycled water operations.
- Mentor staff, drive performance, and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Oversee project lifecycles, including defining scope, schedules, budgets, and system testing.
- Partner with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure system integration and cybersecurity alignment.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Seven years of progressively responsible experience in the design, implementation, and administration of process automation and control systems.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Valid California Class C driver's license and ability to maintain insurability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from the International Society of Automation (ISA) as a Certified Control Systems Professional.
- Certification from the International Society of Automation (ISA) as a Certified Control Systems Technician.
- California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Electrical and Instrumentation Technologist Grade 3 Certification.
