Principal Consultant, Land Services

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager for multiple programs, ensuring scope, budget, schedule, and quality targets are met
• Negotiate and secure land agreements on behalf of clients for construction and operational needs
• Drive business development activities and identify new growth opportunities
• Oversee deed and title research, review title searches, and summarize rights accurately
• Act as a liaison between property owners and clients to resolve issues and facilitate agreements
• Prepare and submit permit applications for regulatory requirements, including road and rail crossings
• Supervise staff and third-party land agents to ensure high-quality delivery
• Manage project land budgets and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of experience in land services, right-of-way acquisition, or related fields
• Proven expertise in the energy, oil & gas, or renewable energy sectors
• Demonstrated success in negotiating legal land agreements such as leases, grants, and fee purchases
• Strong project and budget management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for engaging with private, corporate, and government stakeholders
• Proven ability to drive business development and client engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with title research, land valuation studies, and permitting processes
