Principal Cloud Operation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, maintain, and optimize production server hardware and software to ensure high availability.
• Provide technical leadership and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cloud operations.
• Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and escalations to meet strict SLAs.
• Automate manual processes and build deployment tools to support zero-downtime deployments.
• Perform regular system patching, bug fixes, and standardization projects across the Oracle technology stack.
• Support and troubleshoot staging and production environments, including high-scale, high-throughput services.
• Participate in a rotating on-call shift to provide continuous support for critical services.

Requirements

• 8+ years of overall experience in the IT industry.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in System Administration or Support roles.
• Strong expertise in Linux administration and systems architecture.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and instrumentation tools like Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or Elastic.
• Experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools including Chef, Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and load balancers.
