Principal Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and advice throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design to construction administration and certification
• Lead and deliver high-quality proposal documentation, including fee estimation, methodology development, and contract negotiation
• Lead project teams of engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship to all employee levels
• Manage meetings with key stakeholders, including clients, internal disciplines, and external consultants
• Review technical deliverables such as reports, detailed designs, and construction quality assurance data to ensure compliance with standards
• Manage projects technically and contractually in accordance with organizational policies
• Oversee project financial management by monitoring time and costs against budgets and managing scope changes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years of experience in urban development engineering
• CPEng status or close to obtaining it
• RPEQ status or a willingness to obtain it
• Strong technical expertise in civil design with knowledge of Australian Standards and Local Council Planning Schemes
• Proven experience managing large-scale greenfield and brownfield developments
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and business development
