About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform complex detailed stress analysis of cabin or cargo components using classical hand analysis and Finite Element methods.
- Support structural design efforts for new and modified components from the conceptual phase through development and certification.
- Conduct reviews of supplier stress substantiation reports to ensure compliance with aircraft design requirements and sign-off data.
- Coordinate with design engineers, suppliers, and technical leads to ensure project deliverables meet timelines with optimum design solutions.
- Mentor less experienced structural analysts and provide leadership on highly complex technical problems.
- Set broad objectives and timelines, establishing necessary tasks to achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) with an emphasis on structural or systems design.
- Minimum of thirteen (13) years of total experience in design involving cabin/cargo or system installation projects.
- Strong capability in Finite Modeling of Structures using both Implicit and Explicit Linear and Non-Linear techniques.
- Proficiency with industry software such as Nastran, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Radioss, or Altair Hyperworks.
- In-depth knowledge of technical design principles, theories, and concepts.
- Applied knowledge of design documentation, techniques, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Google Suite.
