Principal Audio/DSP Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize end-to-end deployment pipelines for compact audio AI models on DSP/NPU targets
• Define DSP/NPU partitioning strategies to balance workload, memory bandwidth, latency, and power
• Own simulation-to-RTL validation flows, including developing bit-exact reference models
• Perform low-level implementation and optimization of signal processing and neural network kernels
• Profile and optimize inference performance under strict always-on and real-time constraints
• Design and maintain model compression and quantization workflows (PTQ, QAT)
• Develop signal processing algorithms for array processing, beamforming, and spatial filtering
• Contribute to audio ASIC system architecture definition and hardware specification decisions
• Mentor engineers in deployment best practices and hardware-aware algorithm design

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, signal processing, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in audio/speech signal processing within a semiconductor environment
• Expertise in fixed-point algorithm implementation and model quantization (PTQ/QAT)
• Proficiency in C (embedded/firmware level), Python, MATLAB, and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Strong knowledge of simulation-to-RTL flows, including bit-exact modeling and functional verification
• Experience with low-level profiling tools and memory optimization for embedded AI inference

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with NPU/accelerator architectures and their programming models
• Familiarity with the full ASIC development cycle from algorithm freeze to silicon validation
• Background in always-on, sub-mW audio processing for wearable or hearable products
• Track record of US patents in audio signal processing or embedded ML
• Experience providing technical leadership to engineering teams
