Principal Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IC design, systems, FW, and test teams to translate customer requirements into product improvements
• Review customer schematics and layouts for signal-integrity and power-integrity best practices
• Lead board-level bring-up and validation using oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
• Provide on-site or remote debug support for complex customer issues
• Develop application collateral including reference designs, layout guidelines, and application notes
• Participate in trade shows and provide training for Field Application Engineers (FAEs)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• 12+ years of experience in hardware design, applications engineering, or system validation
• Strong understanding of high-speed SerDes fundamentals, including channel loss, jitter, and equalization
• Demonstrated experience with multi-Gbps serial links such as Ethernet, PCIe, or USB
• Proficiency with SI/PI simulation tools and S-parameter analysis
• Hands-on experience with high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, and protocol analyzers
• Strong PCB design skills for high-speed routing, layer stack-up, and differential pairs
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences
