About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish, build, and maintain relationships with banks, advisors, and lending platforms to increase deal flow origination.
- Facilitate sourcing of deal flow across public and private credit markets through deep industry relationships.
- Develop strategic partnerships and joint ventures with insurance companies, pensions, and other asset managers.
- Drive brand development for the Alternative Credit business by participating in conferences, panels, and social events.
- Coordinate and quarterback the execution processes for various investment opportunities.
- Provide proactive market intelligence and updates to the collective Alternative Credit team and the broader Ares platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent.
- 10-15+ years of experience at a top investment firm, investment bank, or similar organization.
- Proven experience in capital markets, investment banking, leveraged finance, or principal investing.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with deep knowledge of finance and accounting.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, and accounting.
- Solid understanding of loan and transaction documentation, including commitment letters, term sheets, and credit agreements.
- Superior networking skills and the ability to source valued information.
