Principal AI Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of six direct reports, focusing on career development and team health
• Drive technical strategy and execution for the CK AI Service, including RAG workflow design and API expansion
• Improve delivery velocity and reduce system bottlenecks or single points of failure
• Establish sustainable leadership models and scalable team structures to support growth
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to drive product roadmaps and feature design
• Govern and standardize AI patterns, including evaluation, observability, and performance optimization

Requirements

• Proven experience mentoring engineering teams and managing performance
• Deep expertise in designing and delivering distributed systems and APIs at scale
• Hands-on experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows
• Strong understanding of LLM integration, orchestration, embeddings, and vector search
• Experience with microservices architecture and system integration
• Ability to define technical strategies that balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability
• Experience building AI-powered APIs and services for production environments
