Principal AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and define enterprise-grade GenAI architectures, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and multi-model routing strategies.
• Drive production readiness for GenAI solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead complex architectural decisions regarding data ingestion, vector databases, model selection, and API scalability.
• Act as a Forward Deployed Principal Engineer, partnering with business teams to deliver high-impact AI use cases from ideation to production.
• Ensure all AI solutions align with enterprise risk, cyber, and model governance standards.
• Mentor senior and staff-level engineers and serve as a recognized GenAI expert across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant depth in AI/ML or data-intensive systems.
• 2+ years of experience in Python programming.
• 2+ years of experience designing and delivering production-scale Generative AI systems in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG architecture.
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems and performance optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating in highly regulated environments, such as financial services.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks and multi-model orchestration.
• Demonstrated ability to influence multiple teams, platforms, or business units at a Principal level.
• Strong understanding of non-functional requirements including security, scalability, and cost management.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives and non-technical stakeholders.
