Principal AI Compiler Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and evolution of an AI compiler toolchain to map neural networks onto NXP SoC platforms
• Pioneer new graph transformations, lowering, scheduling, and codegen strategies for CPUs and custom accelerators
• Build deep integrations with leading AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX
• Optimize quantization, operator fusion, memory planning, and layout transformations
• Partner with hardware and software architects to co-design next-gen compiler and accelerator features
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks using profiling and diagnostics to tune for latency, throughput, and power efficiency
• Enhance validation, benchmarking, and regression pipelines to ensure compiler correctness

Requirements

• MS/PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Deep experience building AI compilers, accelerator backends, or graph optimization frameworks
• Strong expertise in graph and performance optimization for NPUs or custom accelerators
• Experience with MLIR, LLVM, TVM-like systems, or proprietary compiler IRs
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
• Solid understanding of AI inference workloads, including CNNs, transformers, and generative models
• Strong communication skills and experience working in agile/Scrum environments
