Principal Advanced Quality Engineer - Textiles

Responsibilities

• Act as the Textiles Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help New Product Development (NPD) teams determine optimal materials and designs.
• Interface with Front End Innovation teams to adapt innovative textile materials for production.
• Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) for NPD projects throughout the development cycle.
• Lead supplier process and QMS audits focused on textile-specific risks.
• Develop test plans and implement innovative test methods to quantify product performance.
• Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and utilize statistical techniques like Weibull analysis to support engineering improvements.
• Mentor junior-level Advanced Quality Engineers in developing requirements, test methodologies, and statistical techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or an equivalent educational field.
• 10+ years of experience directly supporting textiles or soft goods product quality.
• Proven experience with new product commercialization processes.
• Expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), life data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, Reliasoft).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with creative problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE) or the desire to achieve it.
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma methodologies.
