Principal Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead process development to improve print capability, speed, and material performance for advanced product initiatives
• Support Additive Manufacturing (AM) qualification efforts utilizing IQ, OQ, and MQ protocols
• Develop and utilize advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space
• Collaborate with government, industry, and academic partners to develop whitepapers and project proposals
• Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities regarding build failures or process issues
• Work with cross-functional teams in materials, design, simulation, and operations to improve the full value stream

Requirements

• University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or 5 years with an advanced degree)
• Demonstrated expertise in Additive Manufacturing tools and processes
• Hands-on experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipment
• Proficiency with CAD software and scripting languages such as Matlab or Python
• Working understanding of AM machine sensors and control systems
• U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
