Primary PBL Educator and Homeroom Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach early reading using systematic synthetic phonics, decoding, and fluency
• Instruct early writing, including composition and handwriting craft
• Teach early mathematics using concrete-pictorial-abstract progression
• Design and lead immersive, play-rich Project-Based Learning (PBL) experiences
• Plan and lead weekly excursion days in nature, regardless of weather
• Use diagnostic assessment and observation to plan individualized learning
• Manage classroom behavior using restorative, relationship-first approaches
• Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
• Build proactive relationships with parents and caregivers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Master's degree in Education or teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least three years of full-time classroom teaching experience
• Significant experience teaching children in the 5–7 age range
• Expertise in early reading instruction and systematic synthetic phonics
• Strong understanding of early mathematics and number sense
• Deep understanding of child development (emotional, social, cognitive, physical)
• Experience with UbD framework and PLCs or readiness to adopt them
• Genuine love of being outdoors and teaching in all weather conditions
• Alignment with school values and support for a plant-based meal approach

Preferred Qualifications

• PBL planning and delivery experience for early primary ages
• Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or other progressive child-centered training
• Experience with competency-based assessment and UDL
• Forest school training or outdoor education experience
• Skills in music, art, or storytelling
• Experience with EAL learners
