Primary Learning Support Teacher

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, monitor, and evaluate students' specific learning needs in collaboration with the school community.
• Generate and implement appropriate learning plans and strategies for designated students in conjunction with class teachers.
• Provide targeted instruction to small groups of students within the learning support program.
• Make necessary adjustments to curriculum, approaches to learning, and teaching methods to meet individual educational needs.
• Develop and maintain confidential records, including student attendance, lesson plans, assessment records, and planning meeting minutes.
• Liaise with internal and external professionals and parents to support student success and foster strong school-home relationships.
• Actively participate in school activities, team meetings, and community events such as Parent Teacher Conferences.
• Provide specialist resources to teachers to support differentiation for learners with identified needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in implementing individual learning plans and educational strategies.
• Strong ability to develop rapport with students, parents, teachers, and visiting consultants.
• Deep knowledge of current best practices in Learning Support.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain highly confidential student records and documentation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
