About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one learning support for a 9-year-old student with additional needs
  • Encourage the student to interact with peers and engage in classroom and play activities
  • Implement specific strategies, in agreement with the teacher, to support academic progress
  • Monitor and accurately record the student's responses to learning activities
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback on progress to teachers and parents
  • Support the teacher in maintaining a purposeful and supportive learning environment
  • Adhere to all safeguarding policies, procedures, and codes of conduct to ensure student wellbeing

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a learning support assistant or teacher
  • A patient and empathetic nature with a deep care for children's outcomes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
  • A proactive, flexible, and creative approach to overcoming challenges
  • Ability to work collegially and demonstrate good initiative
