Primary English Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide educational support to students under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCo
• Support small groups of students to reinforce learning in line with agreed objectives
• Deliver targeted intervention activities to meet diverse learning needs
• Assist with class cover and, where appropriate, deliver limited lessons under supervision
• Promote inclusion, positive behavior, and a safe, calm learning environment
• Monitor student engagement, wellbeing, and progress, providing feedback to inform teaching
• Work flexibly across different classes and year groups in a collaborative manner

Requirements

• University graduate with a recognized teaching qualification
• Minimum of two years of experience as a class teacher
• Strong subject knowledge in English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage classrooms effectively and foster an engaging learning environment
• Highly organized, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
