Primary Care Physician

Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive health needs of UCLA students through direct medical care and case management
• Provide diagnosis and treatment in all settings at the Student Health Service
• Optimize individual and campus health through competent medical care
• Provide consultation to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers
• Integrate prevention and healthy lifestyle counseling into patient care
• Support the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of primary care residency training (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine)
• Valid California medical license
• Board certification in an applicable primary care specialty
• Current DEA Registration and National Practitioner Identifier (NPI)
• Current basic CPR Certification
• Knowledge of disease prevention and health promotion for adolescents and adults
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record software

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in outpatient, urgent care, or emergency department settings
• Experience performing outpatient procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, and splinting
