Pricing Strategist, API

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end pricing strategy for the API platform, including model launch pricing, architecture, packaging, and discount logic.
• Recommend pricing for new models and capabilities, creating innovative commercial constructs for API customers.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and GTM leaders to align pricing with product value and growth plans.
• Establish effective pricing governance, including decision frameworks, approval processes, and performance tracking.
• Build monetization frameworks and commercial policies grounded in customer preferences and market dynamics.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in pricing, monetization, product strategy, business operations, or consulting.
• 3+ years of direct experience specifically in pricing and monetization.
• Deep familiarity with consumption-based pricing and the monetization of API, infrastructure, or developer-platform products.
• Proficiency in building rigorous analytical and financial models to translate technical data into clear recommendations.
• Proven track record of shipping successful pricing strategies across both self-serve and sales-led motions.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate high-stakes, ambiguous environments.
