Pricing Manager, Pricing & Market Access

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic price negotiations with the MHLW for responsible products and manage all necessary preparations.
• Assess the price potential of assigned products in close collaboration with the Market Access group.
• Contribute to business planning by providing insightful analysis of changes in the healthcare and pricing environment.
• Monitor government council discussions and pricing tendencies to inform strategy.
• Collaborate with internal departments and the Global Pricing & Market Access team to align and support optimal pricing strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with MHLW officials and industry colleagues through trade association activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading negotiations with the MHLW regarding new drug pricing.
• Experience developing assumptions and forecasts for future new drug prices.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Science, Economics, Pharmacy, or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of the Japanese healthcare business and reimbursement pricing regulations.
• Fluent Japanese (speaking and writing) and business-level English.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharmacist or Medical license.
• Experience working within trade associations or with multi-national pharmaceutical companies.
• Experience with cost-effectiveness assessments.
• Familiarity with operating in a global business environment.
• Clinical development knowledge and excellent PC skills.
