Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor various food production presses and dryers, including long goods, short cut, noodle, and lasagna lines.
• Monitor recipe settings and computer parameters to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.
• Perform die and format changes using electric crane or chain hoist systems.
• Monitor extrusion patterns and drying systems to ensure proper product length and moisture levels.
• Manage the shutdown and startup of all lines in the press area.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks, including disassembling press heads, augers, barrels, and mixers.
• Maintain accurate daily reports regarding downtime, cleaning, product specifications, and flour transfers.
• Respond to alarms and resolve equipment or flour system issues in a timely manner.
• Perform minor maintenance on presses and dryers and assist maintenance technicians as needed.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and food safety in compliance with GMPs.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computers and keyboard functions.
• Ability to lift heavy loads up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying loads.
• Ability to work in high-temperature environments (exceeding 95°F for long periods and 150°F for short periods).
• Ability to work in dust-filled areas using proper equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, such as continuous arm and hand movements for cleaning.
