Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of presses, including positioning, aligning, and bolting dies to ram and anvil
• Perform machine set-ups, including adjusting shut-heights and cushion pressure on form and draw dies
• Pre-stage materials, tools, and equipment required for production runs
• Use checking gauges to ensure product quality and notify supervisors of any quality issues
• Complete production reports and quality alerts in a timely manner
• Operate lift trucks and cranes safely to move materials and equipment
• Perform minor repairs such as adjusting grippers or re-aligning steel
• Instruct press catchers and set-up personnel on proper methods and safety protocols

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years of direct press experience or 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
• Proven experience working in a press shop environment
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
• Physical ability to work on a plant floor and lift more than 25lbs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
