Preschool Guide

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a lead guide to plan, implement, and manage the classroom using Montessori principles
• Manage the physical care and daily safety of children in accordance with licensing guidelines
• Observe and document child development regularly to prepare and maintain the learning environment
• Model appropriate pro-social behavior and utilize positive discipline strategies to redirect children
• Build respectful relationships with families, children, and co-teachers that honor diversity
• Provide developmental reports to parents and conduct parent conferences three times per year
• Collaborate with co-teachers on curriculum planning, environmental design, and classroom challenges
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment

Requirements

• 3 years of experience working in early childhood education
• Knowledge of Montessori/RIE caregiving techniques
• Knowledge of Positive Discipline strategies
• Strong observation and documentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift, move, or hold children weighing up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• Master's degree in a related field
• MACTE Accredited Montessori certification
• 5+ years of experience in Montessori programming
• Fluency in languages other than English
• Experience working with neurodivergent children in a group setting
