Prep Chef

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning
• Assist chefs with mise en place for all kitchen sections
• Ensure all food items are stored, labeled, and rotated properly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and storage rooms
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and preparation standards
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
• Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience as a Prep Chef, Commis, or similar role
• Strong understanding of basic cooking and preparation techniques
• Good knife skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Positive attitude and a strong teamwork mindset
