Premises Officer

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to the academy health and safety policy by identifying and mitigating hazards
• Maintain, decorate, and repair academy premises and grounds as required
• Provide site security, including locking and securing gates
• Liaise with and supervise external contractors while they are on site
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as emptying bins, monitoring toilet cleanliness, and clearing litter
• Assist with the movement of furniture for exams and academy events
• Carry out basic servicing and cleaning of academy vehicles
• Report structural faults, broken fixtures, or any dangerous behavior/actions

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements
• Training or significant experience in plumbing, electrical, building, or ground maintenance
• Considerable DIY experience and practical maintenance skills
• Physical fitness suitable for heavy lifting and manual tasks
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
• Ability to respond to emergencies occurring outside of normal working hours
• Experience working within an educational establishment is preferred
