Premises Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage all people management aspects of the premises team, including recruitment, performance management, training, and scheduling
• Supervise work completed by outside agencies and external contractors on the premises and grounds
• Oversee the production and delivery of a planned programme of maintenance and repair for buildings
• Inspect the internal and external fabric of the buildings and initiate repairs for defects
• Ensure site and buildings comply with the highest levels of security and safeguarding at all times
• Manage site health and safety systems and processes, ensuring high quality and reporting to relevant staff
• Manage premises budgets and ensure best value for money in procurement and service level agreements
• Oversee the security, opening, and closing of the building, including managing security systems
• Manage community use and bookings of the premises

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements
• Training in plumbing, electrical, building, or general ground maintenance
• Proven experience in managing a team of premises staff
• Experience in managing premises budgets and obtaining value for money
• Experience working in an educational establishment or with children and young people
• Ability to handle heavy lifting and deal with emergencies outside normal working hours
