About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and approve credit requests within assigned limits, providing recommendations for high-value or problematic loans.
- Analyze financial and non-financial risks to establish accurate client risk profiles and ensure compliance with bank policies.
- Monitor portfolios proactively by tracking early warning signals and sector trends to take timely corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with banking services to ensure a consistent client experience while maintaining rigorous risk management.
- Supervise the validation of critical data elements within credit systems for capital and provision calculations.
- Lead and coach a team of credit officers, promoting a culture of risk vigilance and accountability.
- Support innovation by digitizing risk-related processes to improve operational efficiency and decision-making speed.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in financial analysis or credit assessment.
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Strong expertise in financial analysis, accounting, and risk assessment.
- Deep knowledge of security documents, legal implications, and recourse.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, specifically in managing credit teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions under uncertainty and clearly communicate the rationale behind them.
- Fluency in English is required for regular collaboration with teams in Toronto and international clients.
