Preclinical Support Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain mouse room operations, including basic animal husbandry and lab cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep
• Perform basic animal bio-methods such as animal restraint, caliper measurements, body weights, and clinical observations
• Communicate observations concerning mice to researchers
• Record data accurately using laboratory management systems and maintain documentation according to protocols and SOPs
• Provide axillary support for the production of humanized mice and assist with deliveries
• Perform general record keeping and information processing

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 6 months to 1 year of applicable work experience in a laboratory or animal care setting
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory policies
• Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and data entry
