About the role
Responsibilities
- Co-teach and build an engaging classroom environment through exploration and purposeful play
- Teach literacy, mathematics, and core knowledge including science and social studies
- Collaborate with lead and apprentice teachers to facilitate small group instruction
- Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly to differentiate instruction
- Implement instructional models and support student social-emotional and academic development
- Partner with families to support student learning and development
- Support daily school operations including arrival, lunch duty, and dismissal
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
- Academic expertise in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, or Social Sciences
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban communities
