Pre Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the pre-construction phase to ensure project success
• Manage design coordination and value engineering
• Interpret and challenge architectural and engineering drawings
• Lead early-stage project planning including scope definition, risk identification, and programme development
• Support procurement strategies and supply chain engagement
• Collaborate with QS teams on cost planning and budget development
• Liaise with clients, design consultants, fire engineers, and internal delivery teams
• Lead design team meetings and support client presentations and bids
• Manage Building Control processes and Gateway 2 submissions

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or similar
• In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations (Building Safety Act 2022, Approved Document B, PAS 9980, BS 8414)
• Experience with framework agreements and public sector clients
• Understanding of Golden Thread principles and digital record-keeping
• Proficiency in MS Project, BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks), and document control systems (Aconex)
• Membership of CIOB, RICS, or similar professional body
