Pre-Clinical/Clinical Faculty - Pediatric Dentistry

Responsibilities

• Provide preclinical and clinical instruction to pre-doctoral students in pediatric dentistry
• Deliver instruction in a humanistic manner to inspire professionalism and expertise
• Participate in teaching activities for the dental auxiliary utilization (DAU) program
• Engage in community outreach activities, potentially in conjunction with student-organized groups
• Perform specialty preparatory activities and interdisciplinary course instruction as assigned by the Department Chair

Requirements

• DDS/DMD degree (ADA-accredited school preferred)
• Certificate or Master’s degree from an ADA-accredited pediatric dentistry specialty training program
• Current, active dental license
• Valid CPR certification
• Current knowledge of the AAPD Pediatric Dentistry Reference Manual
• Knowledge of dental school educational processes and restorative/preventive techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Sufficient motor function to execute essential oral healthcare movements
• Ability to perform diagnostic maneuvers, dental preparations, and surgical procedures using hand instrumentation
• Ability to perform basic life support and manage patient positioning for children with disabilities
