Pre-Analytical Laboratory Technician II

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis, including accessioning, recording, and verifying patient information.
• Receive, sort, unpack, and log incoming samples using specified software.
• Perform administrative duties such as scanning pathology reports and managing physical paperwork.
• Execute order entry and processing, including reviewing patient demographics and sample collection.
• Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to enter sample information and print work lists.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organize common areas, and perform equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ISO 15189, and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
• Follow all established health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience maintaining sample integrity through strict adherence to protocols.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Demonstrated knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ability to work the designated shift: Monday-Thursday and Saturday, 9:00am-5:30pm.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• Experience with laboratory training and training programs.
• Demonstrated ability to write and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
