About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and secure all required documentation and signatures.
- Obtain and verify insurance and demographic information while managing collection attempts.
- Facilitate patient care coordination between primary, specialty, and ancillary services.
- Manage patient intake, create medical records, and maintain accurate data.
- Process incoming calls, respond to practice inquiries, and manage phone requests.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Handle distribution of mail, faxes, and electronic communications.
- Support a patient-centered medical home through efficient and compassionate service.
Requirements
- High School degree or GED required.
- Proven experience in customer service.
- Knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling, registration, and electronic medical records.
- Understanding of patient flow, billing, coding, and insurance authorizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience working within a specialty office environment.
