Practice Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational aspects of the Zoo Veterinary Center (ZVC), ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Manage a diverse team including front desk staff, reception, groomers, accountants, pet hotel caretakers, and trainers.
• Conduct regular performance appraisals and manage human resources tasks such as hiring and training.
• Handle financial management, including budgeting, accounts receivable/payable, inventory, and tax planning.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and local regulations from the municipality and MOCCAE.
• Develop and update SOPs, operational handbooks, and safety procedures to maintain high standards of care.
• Support veterinarians by managing business intricacies, allowing them to focus on medical practice.
• Drive revenue growth and minimize costs through strategic planning and effective marketing/PR collaboration.

Requirements

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent).
• Additional qualifications in business management or administration.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary practice.
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proficiency in veterinary management software and standard office applications (Excel, Word).
• Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and professional staff.
