About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-impact messaging for the SVP of the School of Business and school leadership, including talking points, media statements, and conference remarks.
- Craft compelling thought leadership content such as blogs, op-eds, and panel pitches to elevate the value of business education.
- Lead media relations strategy by identifying pitch stories, securing coverage, and responding to media inquiries in collaboration with the university's PR firm.
- Oversee the creation of original written and visual content for newsletters, social media, and digital storytelling.
- Provide onsite strategic support at high-visibility conferences and events to ensure brand alignment.
- Partner with internal departments to support employee engagement and ensure consistent university-wide messaging.
- Track communications impact and engagement metrics to optimize ongoing strategy and content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in media, public relations, marketing, or communications.
- Experience working within a higher education or business environment.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically in higher education.
- Experience working within the business industry.
- Professional experience as a media reporter or public relations practitioner.
