About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical systems, power lines, cables, and street lighting
- Connect and insulate conductors and related wiring
- Climb ladders or operate hydraulic buckets when working on poles and towers
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with drawings, codes, and regulations
- Coordinate with local electrical inspection governance for work approvals
- Maintain inventory control and uphold company H&S requirements
Requirements
- Journeyperson Certification as a Powerline Technician (434A Red Seal or equivalent)
- Successful completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program
- Ability to operate bucket trucks, radial boom derricks, and hydraulic equipment
- Proficiency in live line work practices including stick work and rubber glove techniques
- Valid DZ or AZ Driver’s License
- Certified in Working at Heights, Pole Top and Bucket Rescue, and Bucket Evacuation
