About the role

About the Company

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute power measurement campaigns across all voltage rails under realistic LLM inference workloads
  • Validate power delivery network (PDN) performance including VRM load step response and PCIe power compliance
  • Profile power transient events and correlate them with on-die performance monitor data
  • Run extended stress workloads to surface reliability risks and throttling behavior
  • Validate power sequencing, PMBus telemetry accuracy, and BMC alert thresholds
  • Feed characterization data back to RTL and physical design teams for DVFS policy and leakage optimization
  • Lead electrical characterization and qualification for the system-level power distribution network
  • Provide debug, component validation, and failure analysis for released products
  • Develop automated/scripted test procedures for Devices Under Test (DUTs)
  • Collect and analyze test data to support data-driven engineering decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Deep understanding of ASIC and system-level power delivery (VRM topology, PDN impedance, decoupling strategy)
  • Hands-on bench experience with precision shunts, isolated differential probes, and VNA-based PDN impedance measurement
  • Expertise with multi-phase solutions with high dynamic content
  • Experience with VR tuning to a defined power test plan
  • Ability to design experiments to isolate root cause in complex hardware-software stacks
  • Strong oscilloscope and lab instrument fluency
  • Relevant experience with Silicon bring ups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Power Electronics
  • Experience with high voltage testing (800V and higher)
  • Prior power validation work on AI accelerators, GPUs, or high-performance server platforms
  • Experience with OpenBMC, IPMI, or custom BMC firmware
  • Familiarity with LLM inference stacks (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM)
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and data pipeline construction
