Power Systems Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer engineering, business, and software requirements to propose efficient data management solutions.
• Design, develop, test, integrate, and document data management applications following best engineering practices.
• Implement database design concepts to efficiently store and analyze various types of energy market data.
• Support software releases and assist onsite teams with troubleshooting and defect resolution.
• Research and improve software development practices and documentation within the data management domain.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Systems and Data Management.
• 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant engineering role.
• Demonstrated programming skills in high-performance languages such as C, FORTRAN, or C++.
• Proven experience in Power Systems analysis.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Formal classroom education in Data Management, Data Structures, and Databases.
• Experience with multi-threading and high-performance, memory-intensive analytical applications.
• Proficiency in English, both written and oral.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing power system application software specifically for Electric Utilities or Electricity Markets.
• Willingness to travel for short periods to support customers globally.
