Power Supply Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronics hardware and PCB assemblies
• Produce schematics, PCB layouts, and associated design documentation using Altium Designer
• Perform circuit simulation, analysis, and design verification activities
• Conduct FMEA and support technical risk assessments
• Support environmental, EMC, and functional testing activities
• Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles throughout the development process
• Support prototype build, debugging, and validation activities
• Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Work closely with technical leads and cross-functional engineering teams to drive design solutions

Requirements

• Strong industry experience in electronics design with a focus on power electronics
• Proven experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
• Experience with circuit simulation and electronic analysis tools
• Understanding of power conversion technologies and electronic system design
• Experience supporting prototype testing, verification, and validation activities
• Knowledge of EMC, environmental testing, and regulatory compliance
• Experience conducting engineering analysis and FMEA activities
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion solutions
• Familiarity with LTspice, MathCAD, or equivalent engineering tools
• Experience within highly regulated sectors such as defence, aerospace, rail, or marine
• Knowledge of high-reliability electronic design practices
