Power Operations Trainee

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of plant equipment, including starting and stopping pumps and auxiliary equipment
• Monitor and ensure proper lubrication and cooling for pumps, motors, fans, and compressors
• Take and record plant operational data and inspect equipment for faulty operations
• Perform plant maintenance tasks, including the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Conduct routine troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
• Monitor equipment to optimize unit performance and maintain proper water flows, pressures, and temperatures
• Assist in the operation of turbine/generator equipment and the synchronization of units
• Maintain operational and training logs to ensure job understanding and compliance
• Support compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations and plant safety procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational degree, or equivalent
• 0-4 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using test equipment and calibration appliances
• Knowledge of machinery repair and control systems
