Power Operations Commercial Advisor

Responsibilities

• Manage all settlement and billing functions for the ExxonMobil Power Trading desk
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for North American ISO settlement protocols and market rules
• Model and explain complex settlement calculations to internal and external counterparties
• Design and implement processes for volume and dollar tie-outs between ISOs and internal back-office systems
• Monitor and report settlement data to recommend continuous process improvements
• Support the trading desk by providing a settlement feedback loop to optimize strategies and P&L reconciliation
• Research and suggest settlement processes for market entry, including congestion markets (CRR/FTR) and Ancillary Services

Requirements

• Deep understanding of North American power market settlement rules, specifically within ERCOT, MISO, and PJM
• Proven experience with billing system implementation for commercial functions
• Strong knowledge of Ancillary Service market fundamentals, including procurement and deployment
• Working knowledge of congestion markets and support for CRR/FTR account holder designations
• Familiarity with Risk Management measures such as Value at Risk (VaR), position limits, and Mark-to-Market
• Ability to communicate complex technical and financial topics in simple, understandable terms
