Power Electronics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design high-voltage and high-power converters for utility-scale BESS and industrial infrastructure
• Conduct topology comparison and trade-off analyses regarding efficiency, density, and cost
• Perform power-stage component sizing and Si/SiC MOSFET selection
• Design robust gate driver circuits and dedicated power supplies
• Lead design and modeling of custom magnetic components like transformers and inductors
• Architect low-voltage subsystems including auxiliary power and sensing circuitry
• Design and optimize EMI filters and high-voltage PCB/PCBA layouts
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Control, Firmware, and Supply Chain teams to optimize products and manufacturing
• Work with Compliance teams to achieve industry certifications like IEEE 1547 and UL 1741

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics
• 3–5 years of experience in power conversion or energy storage products
• Hands-on experience in high-voltage hardware design up to 1.5kVdc
• Deep understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC)
• Proficiency with Simulink, LTspice, Ansys Maxwell/Q3D, and Altium Designer
• Experience with high-power, noise-sensitive PCB layout
• Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes and network analyzers
• Foundational knowledge of control theory and embedded systems
