About the role
Responsibilities
- Design high-voltage and high-power converters for utility-scale BESS and industrial infrastructure
- Conduct topology comparison and trade-off analyses regarding efficiency, density, and cost
- Perform power-stage component sizing and Si/SiC MOSFET selection
- Design robust gate driver circuits and dedicated power supplies
- Lead design and modeling of custom magnetic components like transformers and inductors
- Architect low-voltage subsystems including auxiliary power and sensing circuitry
- Design and optimize EMI filters and high-voltage PCB/PCBA layouts
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Control, Firmware, and Supply Chain teams to optimize products and manufacturing
- Work with Compliance teams to achieve industry certifications like IEEE 1547 and UL 1741
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics
- 3–5 years of experience in power conversion or energy storage products
- Hands-on experience in high-voltage hardware design up to 1.5kVdc
- Deep understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC)
- Proficiency with Simulink, LTspice, Ansys Maxwell/Q3D, and Altium Designer
- Experience with high-power, noise-sensitive PCB layout
- Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes and network analyzers
- Foundational knowledge of control theory and embedded systems
