About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the Power and Energy Project Finance team in Toronto, providing direct managerial responsibility for 10 analysts.
- Provide credit leadership in the ratings process, ensuring consistent application of Fitch’s criteria and methodologies.
- Chair or lead rating committee discussions and provide senior judgment on rating recommendations and surveillance actions.
- Oversee the development of rating rationales, research publications, sector outlooks, and market commentary.
- Represent Fitch externally in meetings with issuers, sponsors, banks, investors, and other market participants.
- Mentor and develop analysts while fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
- Contribute to criteria development and support strategic business initiatives within the CIPF group.
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience in capital markets and/or credit analysis.
- Extensive experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, or debt capital markets, specifically focused on power and energy assets.
- Deep understanding of project finance structures, financing documentation, and risk allocation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of power and energy sectors, including renewable/conventional power and transmission assets.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and mentoring professional analysts.
- Bachelor's degree is required.

- CFA, MBA, or other advanced professional qualifications.
- Well-established relationships across the power, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
