Power Analyst

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the power market fundamental stack model across European markets
• Monitor model inputs and outputs, track model performance, and propose improvements
• Support the power desk with regular short to mid-term fundamental forecasting and analysis
• Follow market developments and analyze correlations between energy complex building blocks including CO2 emissions, coal, gas, and power prices
• Propose profitable Clear Spark Spread (CSS) and Clear Dark Spread (CDS) trading opportunities
• Prepare fundamental scenarios based on research and statistical analysis
• Continuously improve understanding of fundamental power market dynamics
• Cooperate closely with traders, gas analysts, meteorologists, data engineers, and developers

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Power Analyst or strong power markets experience in energy trading/commodities
• Experience with power market fundamental stack modelling
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics
• Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills in econometric and statistical modelling
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex concepts and translate market analyses into strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• Coding skills in Python
• Coding skills in SQL
