About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve power market fundamental stack models across European markets, focusing on mid/long-term horizons
- Prepare fundamental scenarios and longer-dated modelling assumptions based on research and statistical analysis
- Review key model inputs, assumptions, and outputs to drive improvements in modelling approach and scenario robustness
- Support the power desk with mid/long-term fundamental forecasting, forward analysis, and scenario development
- Provide commercially relevant analysis for asset hedging, asset valuation, and longer-dated market views
- Analyse core energy-complex relationships, including CO2, coal, gas, and power, to support trading analysis
- Collaborate closely with traders, gas analysts, researchers, data engineers, and developers
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Power or Cross-Commodity Analyst within the energy trading or commodities sector
- Proven experience in power market fundamental stack modelling, ideally involving forward-horizon or scenario-based modelling
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Strong quantitative skills, including econometric and statistical modelling
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex market analyses into clear strategic propositions
- Proficiency in Python and SQL is preferred
