Postsecondary Student Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group academic advising sessions to assist students with degree requirements, course selection, and academic policies
• Support students in overcoming academic and personal challenges by connecting them with appropriate campus resources
• Offer guidance regarding career readiness, including internships, graduate school preparation, and various career pathways
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement workshops, orientation sessions, and student success initiatives
• Monitor student progress toward graduation and maintain accurate, detailed advising records

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-2 years of experience in academic advising, student affairs, or secondary education
• Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of student development theory and academic policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
