Postdoctoral Researcher

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into the U.S. biobased economy, including bioenergy, biochemicals, bioplastics, and sustainable aviation fuels
• Support the development and expansion of interactive biobased feedstock and product databases and websites
• Leverage emerging AI tools for research, data management, and data visualization
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers in research activities and data management
• Lead the development of technical reports, research articles, and general interest publications

Requirements

• PhD in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, environmental policy, bio-agricultural sciences, chemical engineering, supply chain management, or computer sciences
• Research experience in the biobased economy (markets, economics, or production)
• Strong skills in data management and data visualization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience producing technical reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience using AI tools such as Claude or NotebookLM for data development
• Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and greenhouse gas accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)
• Understanding of biobased supply chains
