Postdoctoral Researcher

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on how sexual selection and environment interact to shape evolution in livebearing fish
• Manage all stages of experimentation, including experimental design, project management, and execution
• Disseminate research results through peer-reviewed journal publications and professional meeting presentations
• Perform laboratory and field work, including international field work
• Onboard, train, and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers
• Assist with laboratory maintenance, fish husbandry, and field logistics

Requirements

• PhD in Evolutionary Biology or a related field
• 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience
• Experience working in freshwater aquatic systems
• Proficiency in aquatic animal husbandry
• Strong background in behavioral ecology and mating-system evolution
• Advanced skills in experimental design and project management

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD with 3-4 years of experience
• Publication record demonstrating empirical work in sexual selection and mating-system evolution
• Experience with basic molecular lab techniques, specifically DNA and RNA extraction
• Experience with genomic library preparation and familiarity with downstream genomic analyses
