Postdoctoral Researcher

Responsibilities

• Provide research and development for computational models focusing on basin-scale hydrology and 2D/3D hydrodynamic modeling of coastal or estuarine environments
• Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches to assist hydrological modeling
• Lead and support field observational studies, including hydrographic surveys, water velocity/discharge measurements, and meteorological data collection
• Perform data processing and analysis for field measurements
• Author peer-reviewed journal articles and support the development of research software

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Oceanography & Coastal Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Civil & Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience with hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling
• Valid Driver's License for vehicle operation

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in numerical modeling of coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics
• Expertise in particle transport and transport timescales
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling
• Experience conducting field observations of coastal hydrodynamics
