Postdoctoral Researcher

Responsibilities

• Design and validate autonomous experimental workflows for materials science, chemistry, advanced manufacturing, or biology
• Integrate instruments, robotics, sensors, and software systems into coordinated laboratory platforms
• Develop software and data infrastructure for instrument control, data acquisition, and workflow automation
• Apply AI/ML methods to experimental discovery, including adaptive experimentation and predictive modeling
• Contribute to multidisciplinary research campaigns and publish results in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Physics, or a related field
• Experience in materials science, chemistry, laboratory automation, robotics, or AI/ML
• Ability to design, execute, and analyze scientific or engineering research
• Experience developing software for scientific computing or instrument integration
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or C/C++
• Ability to work hands-on with experimental systems and robotic platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating autonomous laboratories or high-throughput experimentation platforms
• Experience integrating robotic systems with vision systems or characterization tools
• Experience with Bayesian optimization, active learning, or reinforcement learning
• Interest in agentic AI, physical AI, or embodied AI for autonomous decision-making
